ADIPEC 2023 Decarbonising for a net zero future
Decarbonisation is in the spotlight at ADIPEC 2023. Wintershall Dea presents solutions and projects paving the way to a greener energy ecosystem.
In 2010, we made our first appearance at the ADIPEC.

ADIPEC 2023 takes place from 2 to 5 October in Abu Dhabi. On the way to Net Zero, Wintershall Dea is part of the solution, by contributing competencies and assets. We offer technologies that decarbonise the industry and secure low-carbon energy supply along the whole value chain: from the production of hydrogen to its delivery to industrial customers, from the transport of CO2 from emitters to storage sites and the safe storage of CO2 under the seabed of the North Sea. Because without Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), achieving net zero emissions will not be possible. At our ADIPEC 2023 booth, we are bringing our most relevant projects to life.

Bye bye, CO Zwei
A team from the University of Bergen developed a model known as FluidFlower, which shows what physically happens to CO2 deposited around 2,000 metres below the seabed. The aim of the model is to illustrate CO2 storage and to draw conclusions from the observation that are helpful for real storage or 3D simulations. Carbon capture and storage is a safe, reliable and proven technology that has been used for decades at numerous sites around the world.
Live CO2 injections
You probably know how important CCS is for the future. But have you ever seen CCS actually happening? Come by the Wintershall Dea stand to see a live CO2 injection. Watch a real, live modelled CO2 injection take place before your eyes. Learn why CO2 injection is safe and reliable. Have your questions about CCS answered.

Innovation for a Net Zero Future
Wintershall Dea is working on several key projects to build up a CCS and low carbon hydrogen value chain. At the Energy Hub Wilhelmshaven, our project CO2nnectNOW is designed to become a logistical hub for CO2, where hard-to-avoid emissions from German industrial sites are collected and transported by ship or pipeline to storage sites in the Norwegian and Danish North Sea. With BlueHyNow, also located in Wilhelmshaven, we aim to produce eco-friendly hydrogen from natural gas.
In Denmark, we safely stored the first quantities of CO2 from a Belgian emitter under the North Sea, in our project Greensand. And in Norway, we have been awarded our first two CO2-storage licences in the Norwegian North Sea: Luna and Havstjerne. A part of our CCS infrastructure with Norway around the NOR-GE pipeline.
