The sale of the Wintershall Dea office building in Friedrich-Ebert-Strasse to the City of Kassel has been successfully completed. Following the notarisation of the contract, the properties will now officially be owned by the city.

“The building was home to Wintershall Dea for more than 65 years. We are therefore delighted that it is now in trustworthy hands and will be preserved for the City of Kassel. It is an attractive office building in a great location,” said Stefan Schnell, CEO of Wintershall Dea, about the sale.

The building will in future serve the city as a second attractive administrative location and bring together other organisational units alongside the technical departments at one location, said Lord Mayor Sven Schoeller. “I am convinced that we will be able to create modern working conditions at the new location and, thanks to the resulting synergies, offer a good service for citizens at a convenient central location.”

The building complex is to be handed over to the city of Kassel in the fourth quarter. Wintershall Dea will then use a separate part of the building that can be accessed from Baumbachstrasse.

Since the sale of the majority of Wintershall Dea’s business to Harbour Energy in September 2024, Wintershall Dea’s tasks include managing and disposing of the remaining assets. That also include the properties in Kassel.
