Creating trust through transparency
Wintershall Dea continuously publishes key performance indicators (KPI) relevant non-financial information. We follow internationally accepted reporting standards, allowing our stakeholders to compare our ecological, economic and social performance with others. We also use KPIs to identify potential for improvement and measure our progress.
Wintershall and Dea became Wintershall Dea on 1 May 2019.
Key performance indicators (KPIs) for 2018 and 2017 are combined figures of the two former legacy organisations Wintershall and DEA. The figures were published in the respective sustainability reports. Former Wintershall indicators are verified by KMPG as part of BASF reporting, relevant KPIs of former DEA are audited by PWC within their financial statement.
Climate Protection is a key issue and an essential part of Wintershall Dea corporate strategy.

In order to meet the information needs of our stakeholders, we regular report non-financial information and follow international and industry-specific reporting standards like IPIECA or IOGP. In this way, Wintershall Dea ensures that its performance can also be compared on an international scale. As a future listed company, we plan to report to Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). We also plan to support the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
The Global Reporting Initiative is a multi-stakeholder organisation. It was founded in 1997 with the aim to develop sustainability reporting guidelines that help cpmpanies to report on their economic, ecological and social activities.
The industry developed framework helps companies to shape the structure and content of their sustainability reporting. The focus is on relevant topics in the oil and gas industry.
