Digitisation, technology and solutions for the energy transition: Wintershall Dea presented visions and projects for the future of energy at ADIPEC 2021.
In 2010, we made our first appearance at the ADIPEC.
ADIPEC 2021 took place from 15 to 18 November in Abu Dhabi. This year’s edition was all about the future of gas and oil and the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition.
Wintershall Dea has a clear vision of how this future could look like and presented it at the trade fair. Visitors got an impression of how the company is progressing with innovations in the areas of sustainability, digitisation and technology. The stand presented Wintershall Dea’s Energy Transition Pathway, our approach to climate protection, new projects around CCS and hydrogen, as well as software and hardware solutions that enable operation at the highest level.

Our Energy Transition Pathway
At Wintershall Dea, we are determined to play a key role in the energy transition. Visitors to ADIPEC were able to get an idea of what the role can look like. We have set ambitious and measurable targets to further reduce our emissions. We target net zero activities by 2030, reducing our Scope 1 and 2 emissions from upstream activities at equity basis. And our ambition is to manage and reduce net carbon intensity including Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions. Here, CCS and hydrogen are key. We have the expertise and the assets to deliver.
Innovation in digitalisation and technology
Wintershall Dea has teamed up with IBM to develop the AI-based Exploration Advisory Tool. A tool that empowers explorationists to find data faster and easier than ever before. At ADIPEC, visitors, delegates, and fellow exhibitors had the chance to experience the cutting-edge technology and get to know the people at Wintershall Dea who make technology work.
